| Control Panel in Start Menu SUMMARY: Make your Windows 2000 Control Panel easier to access. Normally, when you access the Windows 2000 Control Panel, you have to click "Start", "Settings", then "Control Panel", and then (finally) Windows 2000 opens up a Control Panel window where you can change settings as needed. If you are a heavy tweaker, then wouldn't it be nice if Windows 2000 automatically expanded the Control Panel right in the Start menu?
Right-click on an empty area of your taskbar and choose "Properties". On the multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, click the "Advanced" tab. Now, under "Start Menu Settings", check "Expand Control Panel" and click "OK".
Voila! Your wish is granted.
