Windows 2000 and DOS

DOS Text Editors Are Still Here!

SUMMARY: Your favorite DOS editors are still around with Windows 2000.

Bet you didn't realize EDLIN, the bane of all text editors, is still around in Windows 2000? Just start it from the command prompt by typing:

edlin FILENAME

A much better editor, EDIT, is still around, too. At least here you have a semi-graphical window for editing files.

edit FILENAME

And yes, you can still change the text and background colors in EDIT, something you still can't do in Notepad without changing the colors of all windows.
