Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - Clear Recently Used Documents

Normally, Windows 2000's Start Menu has a "Documents" submenu. In this submenu, you can see a list of the most previously used documents in Windows 2000 and certain Windows 2000 programs. This may be handy in case you need to quickly retrieve a document you just worked on - in case you forgot to make a few changes, for example. However, if other people use your machine, you may not want them to see all of these documents. In that case, you can have Windows 2000 clear this menu at login - using Tweak UI.

Install and run Tweak UI using the tips mentioned in MalekTips. Then, click the "Paranoia" tab. Check the box next to "Clear Document history at logon" and press "OK".

You can make sure this worked by logging off your system, then logging back in and browsing the Documents submenu from the "Start" menu. It should be empty.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - Clear Recently Used Documents
