Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - X-Mouse Capability

With Tweak UI, you can give Windows 2000 X-Mouse functionality in that whenever you move the mouse to a new window, functionality is given to said window. That way, if you have two windows open, you merely need to move your mouse pointer from one window to another to change windows focus - clicking is not necessary.

To enable X-Mouse functionality for Windows 2000:

1. Download, install, and run Tweak UI for Windows 2000 using the tips mentioned in MalekTips.

2. When "Tweak UI" starts, click the "Mouse" tab.

3. Check "Activation follows mouse (X-Mouse)".

4. If desired, check "Autoraise when activating". This way, whenever you move your mouse pointer to a new window, that window will be raised to the top.

5. Next to "Activation delay (ms)", enter a value if desired. The higher the value, the longer Windows 2000 will wait to activate a window. This may be beneficial in that you may want to skip over one window to activate another, and without a delay, both windows would be activated, in order.

6. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Note that it is highly recommended that you have a fast system with lots of RAM before enabling these features. If Windows has to constantly thrash (shuffle information to and from virtual memory) when switching window focus, you can seriously slow down your Windows 2000 system.
