Windows 2000 and Tweak UI
Fix the Fonts Folder
SUMMARY: Having trouble installing fonts on your Windows 2000 system? Tweak UI can help.
Normally, when you access the "Fonts" folder under Windows 2000 ("Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel" - "Fonts"), the folder has an option "Install New Font" from the "File" menu that lets you add new fonts to your system. Also, this folder has other special features such as the ability to view fonts by similarity, preview fonts, and more.
If you find these features disabled, you can re-enable them with Tweak UI.
1. Download, install, and run Tweak UI for Windows 2000 using the tips mentioned in MalekTips.
2. When "Tweak UI" starts, click the "Repair" tab.
3. Click the pull-down and select "Repair Font Folder".
4. Press "Repair Now".
5. Press "OK" to close the dialog box.
The Fonts folder should now begin acting as normal.
Return to the Windows 2000 and Tweak UI page.
