Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - Clear List of Programs In Start Menu

Windows 2000 normally keeps a history of the last few commands and programs executed when you click the "Start" button and choose "Run". This can be useful in that if you run the same programs over and over again, you won't have to keep typing in the program filenames - just select them from the pull-down. However, this is a potential privacy violation in that other people using your computer may see the software you run.

If you share your machine with others, you can use Tweak UI to clear this list every time someone logs onto your machine.

1. Download, install, and run Tweak UI for Windows 2000 using the tips mentioned in MalekTips.

2. When Tweak UI starts, click the "Paranoia" tab.

3. Check "Clear Run history at logon".

4. Press "OK" to close the dialog box.
