Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - Disable Windows Button Keyboard Shortcuts

If you accidentally enter keyboard shortcuts with the "Windows" button such as WIN-R to run a program, WIN-F to search for files, you can disable these shortcuts with Tweak UI. Note that while you can disable shortcuts, pressing the Windows button without any other keys pressed will still open the "Start" menu.

1. Download, install, and run Tweak UI for Windows 2000 using the tips mentioned in MalekTips.

2. When "Tweak UI" starts, click the "IE" tab.

3. Uncheck "Enable Windows+X hotkeys (requires logoff)".

4. Press "OK" to close the dialog box.

5. Logoff and log back on.

Press the "print" button on your browser or select "File" - "Print" to print this tip. Then, return to Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - Disable Windows Button Keyboard Shortcuts
