Windows 2000 and Tweak UI - Allow or Disallow Anyone to Shut Down Without Logging In

SUMMARY: Toggle the ability for anyone to be able to shut down your Windows 2000 system with Tweak UI.

With Tweak UI, you can decide whether or not anyone can shut down your Windows 2000 system without first logging in. If you are the only one using your machine, you may want to enable this feature; in case you accidentally boot your machine but need to run and do something else, you won't have to log in then shut down the machine. However, for multi-user computers or servers, you don't want to give just anyone who walks by the machine the ability to shut it down.

1. Download, install, and run Tweak UI for Windows 2000 using the tips mentioned in MalekTips.

2. When "Tweak UI" starts, click the "Logon" tab.

3. Check or uncheck "Show shutdown button on logon dialog" as desired.

4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
