File Transfer - FTP - SFTP

FTP with Multiple Simultaneous Transfers

SUMMARY: 3D-FTP supports a configurable theme, virus scanning after file downloads, logging, and other features.

3D-FTP is a file transfer application for Windows supporting multiple connections to an FTP server allowing for simultaneous file transfers. A site manager helps organize FTP connections and a variety of predefined sites are included with the software to get you started. The software supports using a proxy for FTP or HTTP connections if desired.

Features include importing sites from various clients such as CuteFTP and WS_FTP, a drag-and-drop user interface, support for transferring large files over 4 GB+ (claimed by the author, untested for this tip), and printing directory listings.

Configuration options include changing the visual theme, which columns are shown for the local and remote directories, switching layouts, and how times and sizes are displayed. You can also define on a global or site basis several settings including file viewers, ASCII transfer filters, connecting and transfer timeout and retries, sounds, connection logging, and scanning for viruses automatically after downloading.

A 30-day trial of the software may be downloaded at the following site. Windows 2000 or higher is required. Note that Windows 7 support is not mentioned on the site and was not tested when this tip was written.
