Take Care When Opening Files of New Types
SUMMARY: When opening up new file types under Windows 95, read the dialog boxes very carefully - here's why.
When you open a file with Windows 95 that currently does not have a program associated with it, a dialog box will appear showing you all of the software on your system that you could potentially use to open said file. Take care when clicking the OK button after making your decision. Before pressing the button, make sure "Always use this program..." is unchecked. If it is checked, Win95 will establish an association with this file and *always* try to use the selected program to open that kind of file.
