Defrag, Don't Wait
SUMMARY: Why the Windows 95 Defrag tool is important!
If you haven't heard it enough times, defrag your hard drives often! Enough said. If you use Windows 95's Defrag and are tired of clicking through all of the buttons to start DEFRAG, this command-line (which can be run from a batch file or through the "Start" - "Run" menu) will do the trick:
path\DEFRAG.EXE drive: /F /U /NOPROMPT
Where
path is your path to DEFRAG, usually C:\WINDOWS\.
drive: is the drive you want to defrag.
/F means a full defrag
/U means an unconditional defrag.
/NOPROMPT means don't show a prompt!
For example, if you want to defrag the C: drive, the following command-line should work.
C:\WINDOWS\DEFRAG.EXE C: /F /U /NOPROMPT
