Windows 95 Misc
Another Way to Name Your PC
SUMMARY: Name your PC if you are running Windows 95 - here's how.
Whenever you see Windows application "About" boxes, they usually says the application's name, Windows 95, possibly a copyright statement, etc. Did you know that with a registry edit you can change "Windows 95" to your own name or something else of your choosing?
Click on the "Start" button, choosing "Run." Enter in "Regedit" and press "OK." On the left pane of the window that appears, navigate through "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion." Right-click "Version" on the right pane of the Registry Editor window and choose "Modify." Now, type in whatever text you would like to use and press "OK."
Return to the Windows 95 Misc page.
