Make Control Panel Easier to Access
SUMMARY: Make Windows 95's Control Panel easier to access from the "Start" menu.
If you tend to do a lot of "tweaking" with your Windows 95 machine, it can become tedious to access the "Control Panel." First you click the "Start" button, then select "Settings," then select "Control Panel" ... there is an easier way. Make the "Control Panel" accessible as a folder from the "Start" menu.
First, right-click the "Start" button, choosing "Explorer..." Find your WINDOWS\START MENU folder on the left pane of Explorer and select it, if it is not already selected. On the right pane of Explorer, right-click your mouse and select "New" and then "Folder." Immediately type the following while the new folder's filename is selected (without quotes): "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}" After typing this in as the folder name, press ENTER.
