Windows 95 and DOS - How Much of the Drive is in Use? Via DOS

SUMMARY: Display the size of a directory and a hard drive's free space in a Windows 95 DOS prompt.

From a DOS prompt under Windows 95, you can see how much of a given drive is in use. Use the "Verbose" mode with the directory command. Type this from the DOS prompt:

DIR /V X94

(note that X94 is just the name of a file that probably doesn't exist on your hard drive).

The last line of the output will show the hard drive's total disk space and the percentage in use.
