Windows 95 Fonts

One Way to File Away Unneeded Fonts

It has been mentioned many times on "MalekTips" that keeping too many fonts installed can hamper performance greatly, especially for 16-bit applications. There are times, though, that certain fonts may not be needed 95%, but for the other 5%...you get the picture. Take advantage of the fact that, under Win95, fonts can be dragged and dropped in and out of the "\WINDOWS\FONTS" folder to be installed and uninstalled, and create an "OTHERFONTS" folder under "\WINDOWS" to keep fonts that may be needed just occasionally. Simply drag & drop a font file out of "FONTS" to "OTHERFONTS" for temporarily filing, and drag it back to "FONTS" if you need to use it again.
