Windows 95 Fonts

"Install New Font..." Missing

SUMMARY: If you cannot install fonts in your Windows 95 system, try this tweak.

If the "Install New Font..." option under the "File" menu in your "Fonts Control Panel" is missing, this may correct the problem. First, head to the DOS prompt and change to your WINDOWS directory. Now, type this in (without the quotes) and press ENTER.

ATTRIB +S FONTS

After pressing enter, nothing will happen. Revisiting the fonts directory will show nothing. BUT, if you reboot Win95, as long as you entered that command correctly, the "Install New Font..." option should appear in the Fonts folder.

Return to the Windows 95 Fonts page.
