Windows 95 Internet - Networking - Download to the Desktop

(Please note: if you download a LOT of files and/or do not clean out your desktop icons often, this trick could lead to a big mess on your screen.)

Very often, people download files from websites to their computer and have no idea where the file was saved. To help solve this problem, whenever you download a file and are asked where to place it, place the file on your desktop. It can then be easily and quickly found and accessed.

While you will save time finding files with this trick, you will need to spend time occasionally pruning old downloaded files from your desktop. With too many icons on your desktop, it can get very confusing trying to find a desired program or file on your desktop. Plus, Win95 may boot up a little slower as it has to redraw the desktop icons when starting up.
