| F5 Redraws the Desktop Many times when installing new software, especially packages that either change the display properties or the file associations, the desktop seems to be redrawn. When this occurs, Win95 may occasionally put the incorrect icons next to files, generating general confusion until the system is rebooted. Also, when the Registry is edited, modified items that may affect the desktop will not be recognized by the operating system. Taping the F5 key will force a desktop redraw and should fix both of the above problems.
