Windows 95 and the Mouse - Help for Slow Mouse Double-Clickers

SUMMARY: Force Windows 95 to recognize slower mouse button double-clicking.

If you're slow at double-clicking your mouse left button, you'll be happy to know that the Mouse Control Panel has help for you. Inside the control panel is an option to slow down the response time, allowing Win95 to recognize a longer amount of time between double-clicks.

Don't know how to get there? First, click on the "Start" menu, choosing "Settings," and then "Control Panel." Double-click "Mouse" so the "Mouse Properties" window comes up. You will see a "Double-Click Speed" area on the "Mouse Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box that follows. On the slider bar in this area, click and drag the bar to the left or right, depending on whether you are a slow or fast double-clicker, respectively (if you don't know what I mean... click on the little object extending from the line, keep the mouse button held down, and drag the mouse to the far-left, then release). Double-click in the "Test Area." If the man pops out of the box, Win95 has recognized your double-clicking. Last, click OK to close the "Mouse Properties" window, and then close the "Control Panel" window, if desired.
