Windows 95 Notepad - Wordpad

Find the Missing WordPad

SUMMARY: Install WordPad if it is missing in your Windows 95 setup.

Several people have stated a problem whereby they can not find WordPad (text/RTF processor) on the system. Either they forgot to install it when running Win95's setup, or it "disappeared" after installation. To bring back WordPad, try the following.

First, click on the "Start" button. Choose "Settings" and then "Control Panel." Double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in the "Control Panel." on the window that appears, click on the "Windows Setup" tab. Double-click the line "Accessories." Scroll down until you see "WordPad.". Check it and press OK until Win95 prompts you for the source CD/disks,

NOTE: If WordPad is already checked, you might try unchecking WordPad and closing the "Add/Remove Programs" window, then re-open the window and check "WordPad" to continue. Some of WordPad's files could have accidentally been removed and Win95 may not recognize this.
