Windows 95 Notepad - Wordpad
Wordpad: Save Documents as Text Files
SUMMARY: Change the file type WordPad uses when saving files.
If you are creating a file in Wordpad, you know that it defaults to saving the file in Word 6.0 format. If you need to save the file in a different format, click on the "File" menu and choose "Save As..." On the dialog box that follows, click on the pulldown next to "Save as type" and choose your desired filetype. Then, press the "Save" button. Wordpad may remind you that saving the file in the desired filetype will remove certain formatting characteristics.
