| Printer Quits Too Soon SUMMARY: Are you having problems with Windows quitting too soon on a print job, waiting for a printer to warm up? If your printer has a power-saving mode, it may have to warm up before printing a document. This can take a minute or two, and trying to print a document while the printer is warming up will cause Win95 to time out and say the printer is not ready. If this happens to you, let Win95 wait a while longer before giving up on the printer.
Click the "Start" button, choosing "Settings" and then "Printers." Right-click on your printer and choose "Properties." On the multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, select the "Details" tab. Next to "Not Selected," raise the time to 90 or 120 seconds. Click OK to close the dialog box. You may need to restart Win95 for this setting to take effect.
