SUMMARY: Restart Windows 95 without your machine shutting down and rebooting.
If you are having problems in your current Win95 sessions (calls to invalid routines, GPFs, etc.), you *may* be able to "fix" the problem by merely restarting Win95. This, however, can take a while, especially if you have a slow system or devices to load in your AUTOEXEC.BAT and/or CONFIG.SYS files. If you would like to restart just Win95 and not your entire computer, try the following.
Hold down your left SHIFT key and keep it pressed throughout this tip. Click the "Start" button, selecting "Shut Down." Choose "Restart Your Computer" from the dialog box that appears, then click "OK."
You may now release the SHIFT key; Win95 will proceed to shut down, but instead of rebooting the computer, Win95 will just restart.
