Windows 95 Screensavers

Many Screen Savers Anytime

If you have many screen saver files on your system, it may be handy to choose which screen saver you wish to display before leaving your computer for a while. You don't have to use the Display control panel - there's another way. To do so,

1. Click on the "Start" Menu, choosing "Find" and then "Files or Folders..."
2. Under the "named" field, choose "*.scr" (selects all screen saver files)
3. Under the "look in" field, choose your WINDOWS folder (where screen saver files are placed)
4. Choose "Options", then check "Save Search"
5. Click the "Find Now" button
6. After Win95 (or Win98) is done finding the screen saver files, choose "File" and then "Save Search"

You'll have a new desktop icon called "Files named @.scr". Simply double-click this icon and then double-click a screen saver of your choosing from the dialog box that follows! Note that this ONLY works with .SCR screen saver files (those that come with
Win95, Win98, MS-Plus! (c), from Envision Programming etc.), and not those that come with After-Dark(c).
