Remove Speaker Icon from Taskbar Is the speaker icon on your taskbar and you would like to have it removed? Do the following. Right-click on the "Start" Menu. Choose "Settings", then "Control Panel." Double-click "Multimedia" in the "Control Panel" window that follows. In the "Multimedia Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box that follows, click on the box next to "Show volume control on the taskbar" so it is unchecked. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
