Windows 98 and Audio - Advanced Audio Settings

SUMMARY: Want to add more bass to your sounds?

Depending on your soundcard, you may be able to modify the treble and bass output. This way you can make music and noises from Windows 98 sound brighter, or you can get the room thumping with a jamming bass-line to your favorite tracks.

To see if your sound card has these features, click "Start" -> "Programs" -> "Accessories" -> "Entertainment" -> "Volume Control".

When the "Volume Control" window opens, see if an "Advanced" button is visible and enabled. If so, click the button. Depending on your soundcard, you can now modify the bass and treble settings, or perhaps give your sounds a 3D Stereo Enhancement. When you are done, press "Close" to exit the dialog box. Then close the "Volume Control" by clicking on the "X" at the top-right of the window.
