Windows 98 - TweakUI - Speed up your Menus

SUMMARY: Make your Windows 98 menus fly with TweakUI.

When you click on the Windows 98 Start button, are your popup menus too slow? Does it take forever to display the contents of your 'Programs' or 'Documents' menu? While drive speed, computer speed, and memory and disk defragmentation affect the popup menu speeds, this trick may speed it up.

1. Access the Tweak UI Control Panel applet (if you do not have it installed, read the tip elsewhere in MalekTips).
2. On the multi-tabbed dialog box that appears, click on the "Mouse" tab if it is not already selected.
3. Drag the "Menu Speed" tab all the way to the left - to "Fast."
4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.
