| Disable the Scan Results Sound SUMMARY: Remove Ad-Aware's annoying sound it plays when spyware is found.
When Ad-Aware finds spyware or malware on your machine, it produces a jarring sound that, if your speakers are loud, can definitely get your attention! Many people find this useful. You can start Ad-Aware, leave the room or go do something else while it is scanning, and then if some pesky software is found, you'll definitely hear the results!
However, if you are in an office setting or don't want to hear this sound, it can be disabled.
1. Open Ad-Aware.
2. Click the button that looks like a gear ("Settings").
3. When the settings dialog opens, click the "Tweak" button.
4. Double-click "Misc Settings" to open the tree.
5. Uncheck "Play sound if scan produced a result"
6. Click "Proceed" to close the dialog box.
