| Stop Placing Items in the Quarantine SUMMARY: Skip the quarantine when spotting spyware with Ad-Aware. Ad-Aware will automatically place deleted items in a quarantine before they are deleted from the system. This way, if you accidentally delete a cookie, registry key, or other item that you actually need to run your system, visit a particular site, or run an ad-sponsored freeware program, you can recover the entry.
If you don't plan on recovering files from a quarantine and want to completely remove potential vulnerabilities from your system, do the following:
1. Open Ad-Aware. 2. Click the button that looks like a gear ("Settings"). 3. When the settings dialog opens, click the "General" button. 4. Uncheck "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal" 5. Click "Proceed" to close the dialog box.
