Ad-Aware

Stop Asking to Confirm Everything

SUMMARY: Delete possible spyware threats in Ad-Aware quicker, without asking for confirmation.

Ad-Aware normally operates in "Safe Mode" so that whenever you quarantine a possible malware threat or permanently remove an item from the quarantined list, it will warn you of the intended action and ask you to confirm. If you'd rather skip this step and perform actions immediately, change the following setting from within Ad-Aware:

1. Click the button that looks like a gear ("Settings").
2. When the settings dialog opens, click the "General" button.
3. Uncheck "Safe mode (always request confirmation)".
4. Click "Proceed" to close the dialog box and save your settings.

This tweak should only be done by experts, as accidently deleting the wrong registry settings could cause problems, including but not limited to your computer failing to boot!
