Adobe Reader 7 - View Document Security Properties

SUMMARY: Determine whether or not you can print, comment on, or extract information from a PDF document with Adobe Reader 7.

Depending on the wishes of a PDF document's author, you may be able to perform certain tasks with a PDF document in Adobe Reader 7.0, including:

* Printing the PDF
* Document assembly
* Copying content from the PDF to other programs
* Extracting PDF content for accessibility reasons
* Adding comments to the PDF
* Filling out form fields (if applicable) in the PDF
* Signing a PDF
* Creating template pages
* Submitting forms (if applicable) filled in the PDF

To determine which of the above tasks you can perform with a particular PDF document:

1. Select "File" - "Document Properties".

2. When the "Document Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Security" tab.

3. From here, you can view general document security settings as well as whether or not you can perform the above listed tasks.

4. When done, click "OK" to close the dialog box.
