Adobe Reader 7

Don't Change URLs to Hyperlinks

SUMMARY: Keep Adobe Reader 7 from hyperlinking all URLs in a PDF document.

Normally, Adobe Reader 7 will change URLs written in PDF documents into hyperlinks if they weren't originally designed to be clickable. Although many people find this feature convenient, others would rather these links remain standard, unclickable text. Also, Adobe Reader 7 may, in some cases, change text that shouldn't be clickable URLs into hyperlinks. Thus, to change this Adobe Reader 7 behavior:

1. Click "Edit" - "Preferences".

2. When the "Preferences" dialog box appears, click "General" in the left pane.

3. Uncheck "Automatically detect URLs from text".

4. Click "OK" to close the "Preferences" dialog box.
