Adobe Reader 7

Highlight Form Fields and Change Highlight Color

SUMMARY: Make it easier to edit forms in PDF documents within Adobe Reader 7.

When keying information into an Adobe Reader 7 PDF document that contains forms, such as tax and financial documents, you may find it useful to highlight sections of the PDF document where input is expected. To do so, check "Highlight Fields" in the "Document Rights and Instructions" pane that should appear whenever you open a PDF document with a form.

If you don't like the color used to highlight entry fields, change it!

1. Select "Edit" - "Preferences".

2. When the "Preferences" dialog box appears, click "Forms" in the left pane.

3. In the right pane, next to "Fields highlight color" click the light-blue square and choose your desired color. You can also click "Other color" to choose a color from a color palette.

4. Likewise, required fields are normally highlighted in red. Click the red box next to "Required fields highlight color" to change the red fields to some other color.

5. When done, click "OK" to close the dialog box.
