Flying Low SUMMARY: The pros and cons of flying low to the ground when performing digital aerial photography. When taking aerial photographs, should you fly low so that you don't have to zoom in as much?
Advantages:
* Haze and clouds are reduced as you are flying underneath them. * Your focus may not have to be set for infinity, thus reducing inherent camera shake.
Disadvantage:
* Flying low can be much more dangerous. There's less room to react if the plane suffers a mechanical problem, and if you are in a city or mountainous surrounding, the lower you fly the greater the chance your plane or helicopter will be on the same level as potential obstacles.
