Digital Aerial Photography - Don't Forget Vertical Framing

SUMMARY: Vertical framing of digital aerial photos help record greater distances.

When taking aerial photos, sometimes the standard horizontal composition framing just won't do justice to the vast areas seen from the sky. Don't forget to try a few shots with vertical framing by tilting your digital camera 90 degrees to one side. This helps showcase distance and adds even more perspective to the photo.

For variety, alter some shots where you only tilt your camera slightly to one side. There is no hard and fast rule that says the horizon line must be straight in your photos; you might like the artistic effect created by the slanting lines of the landscape.
