Digital Aerial Photography

Photography Inspiration

SUMMARY: Consider 'Earth From Above' for examples of aerial photography.

Looking for some inspiration of photos to take from the air? Consider the book "Earth From Above" by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. It can provide you with many stunning examples of how ordinary things on the ground look extraordinary from the air. Pay close attention to the use of patterns, colors, textures, and symmetry.

Yes, I own this book - I purchased it at an exhibition in Chicago's Millennium Park in 2002.

Warning - Many of the photos in this book are beautiful, providing scenes of nature that you may not otherwise get a chance to see. While this book provides great examples of aerial photography, be forewarned that some pictures, as they are taken of real life and real-life events, you may find slightly disturbing.
