Digital Wildlife and Animal Photography - Disable All Camera Sounds

Many digital cameras nowadays play sounds as audio confirmations to certain tasks, such as when focus lock is obtained, when a picture is deleted, or whenever one moves through the menus. While these sounds are normally fairly quiet, note that an animal's sense of hearing may be much more developed than ours, mainly to keep it away from roaming predators.

Any small noise created by a digital camera may be enough to startle an animal in the wild. Thus, before you plan on taking photos of wildlife, be sure to turn off all audio alerts, beeps, and buzzes. You should be able to do this through the digital camera's "Menu" feature and looking for an audio alerts or sounds section. Refer to your digital camera manual for more details.
