Digital Wildlife and Animal Photography Don't Let Perfectionism Keep you from Shooting Any Photos SUMMARY: Don't let the "rule of thirds" stifle your digital animal photography.   When taking digital photos of animals, strive for perfection, but don't let it paralyze your photography as you set up for the 'money' shot while an animal flies, crawls, or runs away! Most photo 'experts' believe in special rules when taking photography. The most pleasing photographs follow the 'rule of thirds', keeping the subject off-centered 1/3 in a photo. Then, to keep viewers' eyes focused on a photo and not drifting away, the subject must face towards the center of the picture. While these 'rules' sound great, they are not always obtainable with a subject that can leave your composition frame at a moment's notice.
