When taking digital photos of animals, strive for perfection, but don't let it paralyze your photography as you set up for the 'money' shot while an animal flies, crawls, or runs away!

Most photo 'experts' believe in special rules when taking photography. The most pleasing photographs follow the 'rule of thirds', keeping the subject off-centered 1/3 in a photo. Then, to keep viewers' eyes focused on a photo and not drifting away, the subject must face towards the center of the picture.

While these 'rules' sound great, they are not always obtainable with a subject that can leave your composition frame at a moment's notice.

When taking animal photos, consider snapping a few preparatory shots at first, then see if you can create the 'money shot' if the animal remains.
