Digital Wildlife and Animal Photography

Don't Be Afraid of Blurring

SUMMARY: When up against the right backdrop, a blurred animal might help make an attractive digital photo.

As a digital photographer, one of your goals for most photographs is to create a clean, crisp photo that tells a story. This is difficult in shooting some animals, such as birds, that fly very fast and can test your reflexes as well as digital camera's shutter lag time.

Don't always be afraid of a little blurring, especially if birds or other animals are framed against a beautiful backdrop, such as the beach during a vibrant sunrise / sunset. Sometimes, if done right, a little blurring can signify movement, creating an attractive photo that also tells a story.
