Clipboard Managers - Enhancers

SUMMARY: ArsClip can monitor your Windows clipboard and lets you paste recently-copied items, plus you can define permanent items accessible via hotkeys.

ArsClip is a freeware clipboard enhancer for Windows. Arsclip remembers the last 15 text and 5 non-text items placed in the clipboard (though this can be configured), accessible by pressing a Ctrl + Shift + Z hotkey.

When run, the software places an icon on the System Tray - right-click to select options or press the customizable hotkey. History items can be edited or removed. You can also create permanent history items accessible via other customizable hotkeys, allowing you to create hotkeys for, as examples, your name, web or blog address, and twitter account.

Bonus Tip: To create a permanent item:

1. Right-click the system tray icon and choose "Permanent Items".

2. The "ArsClip - Permanent Items and Groups" dialog box appear. Click on the "Default" group and then the "New Item" button.

3. Type in a caption that will be displayed in the ArsClip menu for the item, then type the item to paste.

4. Check the "Use Keystrokes / Commands" box to add keystrokes to the pasted item such as cursor keys. You can also clear the clipboard contents, run a command, wait 100 ms during the pasting, insert the date, or insert the current contents of the clipboard.

5. If desired, click the "Set" button next to "Global hotkey" to select a hotkey to paste this text.

6. Click "Save" to save your new permanent item, then close the "ArsClip - Permanent Items and Groups" dialog.

When using the ArsClip popup menu, you can also right-click a saved item and choose "Make Permanent Item".

Although ArsClip comes with a setup program, it comes as an executable that can be copied anywhere on a system or placed on a portable device.
