Define and Pronounce a Word
SUMMARY: Display definitions to words and learn how to pronounce them with the Ask.com search engine.
Are you reading an online article or writing a paper and quickly need a word defined? Instead of browsing to dictionary or answer websites, use Ask.com to perform a dictionary search.
Ask.com allows dictionary searches in multiple ways including queries in these formats:
define WORD_TO_DEFINE
definition WORD_TO_DEFINE
Where WORD_TO_DEFINE is the word you need defined.
In some cases you can just enter the word itself.
If a result is found Ask.com displays various definitions as well as the word's phonetic pronunciation. You can also click a speaker link to hear the word spoken. Ask.com also displays a link for further definition information, if applicable.
