AntiVir AntiVirus

AutoUpdate More Often

SUMMARY: To prevent against the most recent virus outbreaks, force the AntiVir virus scanner to prompt you to update it more often.

By default, the AntiVir virus scanner will ask you to automatically update its virus definition files every 14 days. This may be enough for you, but if you frequently download a lot of email, visit many web sites, etc., you may need to get virus definition files more regularly to protect yourself. To lower the time frame before AntiVir asks you to AutoUpdate, do the following:

1. Click "Start" - "Programs" - "AntiVir Personal Edition" - "AntiVir".
2. Choose "Options" - "Configuration".
3. When the "Options" dialog box appears, choose "Miscellaneous".
4. Make sure "Check for old virus definition files" is checked. Then, lower the number after "Warn" from 14 days to whatever you desire.
5. Click "OK".
