Bulk Rename Utility is a freeware renamer for Windows, available in two versions, one for Windows 98 and up, the other for Windows 2000 and up.

Though Bulk Rename Utility may have an imposing interface, the program has many features. Text inside filenames can be added, deleted, or replaced, with regular expression support including backreferences. Filename case can be changed. Extensions can be added or changed. You can add auto-incrementing numbers, with the starting number, increment, and base configurable. Folder names can be appended to filenames. The software supports reading ID3 tags from MP3 music files and EXIF tags from JPG photos taken from digital cameras. Renames can be previewed, and changes undone.
