Buying a Printer
Faster Speed May Require USB 2.0
SUMMARY: You may not be able to get advertised fast printer speeds without USB 2.0.
Are you planning on purchasing a printer that is USB-compatible? Before you check the manufacturer's specifications on the print speed, see if the printer supports USB 2.0 as well as USB 1.1. If so, the printer specifications are usually those if USB 2.0 is enabled on your computer. If your computer does not use USB 2.0, you may still be able to use the printer you are considering purchasing - but your printer speed may be substantially slower.
