| Consider a Multifunction Unit SUMMARY: Pros and cons of multifunction printers, plus a list of manufacturer links.
In the market for a new printer? You may want to consider a multifunction, or all-in-one, printer.
A multifunction or all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine can clear up needed desk space. While these units rarely perform as good as the best printers in the market, many newer units do have print and scan dpi (Dots Per Inch) that rival many middle-level printers and scanners. These units cost more than just a printer itself, but they rarely cost as much or even as close to all four units combined. Even if you don't think you need a copier or fax machine, once you have one, you may find that you wonder how you got along with it!
Here are links to some multifunction printer manufacturers. Note that this list is for informational purposes only:

Be careful when shopping, especially if you are looking for fax support. Many printers call themselves all-in-one or multifunction, yet they may only support printing, scanning, and copying.
