Buying a Scanner

Make Sure you Have Lots of Hard Drive Space

SUMMARY: A scanner won't do you much good if you can't store the images.

Before plunking down money to purchase a scanner for your computer, make sure you have plenty of free hard drive space. Depending on how you configure your scanner, each resulting image can take up hundreds of kilobytes, if not several megabytes or more, of room. You'll want to have plenty of free hard drive space to take full advantage of your scanner's features.
