Cfont Pro for Windows

SUMMARY: Cfont Pro is a font viewer and manager for Windows that supports font "slideshows" and exporting proof sheets.

CFont Pro is a freeware font manager for Windows that supports TrueType, OpenType, Bitmap, and Adobe Type 1 fonts. The software lets you view installed fonts on your system or browse your computer / network / removable storage for fonts. Fonts can be installed and uninstalled as needed, backing up fonts to a user-specified folder if desired.

A "Quick Detailed View" (under the View menu) shows properties of all installed fonts including their family, manufacturer, and version. Individual fonts can be previewed in several ways - alphabetically alternating case, all uppercase, numbers, and alphanumeric. Characters can be magnified or viewed as glyphs. You can even display font "slideshows" to help determine differences between fonts as previews are switched onscreen.

Cfont Pro in action

Font previews can be exported to an HTML or RTF proof sheet. You can customize the display caption, font style, and size. Note that the proof sheet only references the font files on your system and does not include font graphics, thus if you copy the file to another system it may not display as desired.

CFont Pro supports Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista. Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 support is not mentioned and was not tested for this tip.
