Planning on traveling by air and worrying about checking your digital camera at the gate with the rest of your luggage? Although many people may tell you that checking your equipment is perfectly safe, if at all possible, try to take your digital camera with you on the plane to help ensure it won't be damaged. Airlines have rules about carry-on baggage, but most allow one carry-on PLUS a personal item. A camera bag usually qualifies as a personal item, so you can take one small piece of luggage PLUS your camera in the plane with you.
