Carefully Attach the Lens Shade

SUMMARY: Prevent dark spots around your digital camera images.

When using a lens shade or lens hood with your digital camera, be sure to carefully attach it per your manual's instructions. Failure to do so could cause the lens shade or hood to fall off, possibly damaging it, your lens, or your camera itself. Also, improper attachment of a lens hood or lens shade can result in photographs with black corners around the images; these must be cropped out or otherwise removed with photo editing software.
